  Cardio Training

While you are inside a gym or reading a fitness magazine, you may hear or come across certain terms which may ring a bell but whose meaning you do not quite know. One such term is cardio training. Through the word cardio, you actually have an idea that this is for the heart. But what exactly is it?

Basically, cardio training refers to any form of exercise which increases the rate of your heart beat up to its maximum. According to experts, you are within a cardiovascular state when your heart beat is within 60 to 85 percent of the maximum rate.

What are the benefits of cardio training? First, it lets you burn excess calories and get rid of unwanted body fat. This of course leads to a better figure. Second, it makes your heart and lungs stronger, thus preventing the occurrence of ailments and diseases in the said vital organs.

The above-mentioned statements may seem very convincing, but which form of cardio training is appropriate for you? Here are a few cardio training examples. First is aerobics, which pertains to a series of rhythmic muscle exercises, normally done with accompanying background music in a group directed by a trainer. Next is running, one of the most basic forms of exercise. If you choose this cardio training, remember to plan how much distance you will be covering and wear a pair of comfortable shoes. Apart from this, you can also try stationary cycling. You can either purchase your own stationary bike or use one in the gym. These bikes have digital displays where you can see your speed and your heart rate.

Finally, regardless of which cardio training exercise you perform, you have to be aware that you should do it in moderation. Health experts recommend a 30 to 60-minute cardio training session which should be done three to five times a week.
