  Exercise Equipment

One of the things which can make your day at the gym more productive is the use of exercise equipment. Being familiar with these useful facilities will definitely give you a head start with regard to your fitness routine.

First of all, exercise equipment can be classified into two major groups: the ones which are used in cardio training and those that are for strength-enhancing workouts.

Equipment for cardio training are used in making the heart healthy by regularly increasing its rate and burning fat. Stationary bikes and treadmills are common examples of equipment for cardio training. A stationary bike is just like a real bicycle but the rider stays in place as he pedals. This type of equipment is believed to provide the best cardio and lower back training. Meanwhile, a treadmill is an exercise equipment that has a moving belt over a motionless deck. It enables the user to walk, run, or jog in place, and it is either manual or motorized.

On the other hand, exercise equipment for strength enhancement help you gain more muscles and maintain the effects of your cardio training. Free weights and weight machines are examples of these equipment. Free weights are made of steel and vary in terms of shape, size, and heaviness. You basically lift these weights with a predetermined number of repetitions and sets. Conversely, weight machines consist of a pile of weights connected to a pulley that you lift by pushing or pulling a designated part of the device. In addition, this machine has a pin which is used to adjust the heaviness of the weights to suit your strength.

Lastly, before actually trying out a few of these equipment, consult a trainer in the gym. This professional can help you properly utilize your chosen equipment to avoid injury and achieve maximum results.
